We are hiring an External Relations Manager to join our team. Here are the details:

Position Goal:   Facilitates advertising and publicity that achieves organizational goals, and
maximum season and single ticket sales.
Position Summary:  The External Relations Manager plans, organizes, implements and
evaluates WSO’s marketing program.  This position oversees all communications regarding
concerts, events, and all areas assigned by the Executive Director. Oversees work of the
graphic designer, other suppliers, and volunteers assisting in marketing activities. Also
tracks relevant marketing data and provides analysis to the Executive Director and Board of
Directors.
Supervisory Relationships:   Reports to the Executive Director.  Supervises/coordinates
the work of staff and volunteers assigned to marketing projects.  Works under WSO
policies and guidelines.
Essential Job Functions:
1.  Manage all marketing and advertising efforts for the WSO.
 Oversee the development of a marketing plan for each regular season concert.
 Assign and coordinate the activities of marketing volunteers for specific areas of the
marketing plan such as robocalls, emails, press releases, print ads, social media,
website, and any traditional or innovative marketing opportunities available.
 Interface with the graphic design contractor to ensure timely and accurate
development of brochures, posters, flyers and other collateral.  Provide final copy of
materials to the Executive Director for approval.
 Analyze sales data to determine success of various programs, providing insights to
the Executive Director for reports to the Board of Directors.

2. Assist Executive Director in Development activities
 Assist with Development tasks, including grant writing.
 Engage with sponsors, donors, and others, in conjunction with E.D. overall plans.
Coordinate events, organizational tasks, and as assigned.

3. Provide a WSO information presence at community events
 Organize WSO materials and volunteers for information tables at various community
events.
4.  Ensure financial accountability for marketing program
 Propose the annual marketing budget to Executive Director.
 Work closely with Bookkeeper to ensure accurate tracking and timely payment of
marketing invoices.
 Collate supporting data and write Tourism and other grants.
 Regularly update the Executive Director on the status of the marketing budget and
suggest possible changes throughout the year.
5.  Supervise Volunteers assigned to Marketing.
6.  Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
